  1. Following some hints in the CAPTURE forum, I've been experimenting with capturing my 8mm tapes at different resolutions. I use the huffy codec. When I play the AVI in WMP, the display resolution is the same as the capture resolution. That is, capture at 320x240 plays at the NTSC 4:3 ratio.Capture at 356x480 plays at .771 ratio. I'd like to make the 356x480 display at 4:3. (Studio 8 does this, but the window is too small to judge quality.)

Any players able to do this?

  2. I think Zoom Player will do what you are looking for. I use Zoom Player 3 and it will let you force a certain aspect ratio on the fly.

    Good Luck,

  3. Thanks. I just downloaded it and will try later tonight!

Edit: Yes! ZoomPlayer does allow the aspect ratio to be forced to 4:3.
    Just what I needed.
