  1. I'm using virtual dub loading a divx encoded vid I downloaded. When I load the avi, I get the following:

Virtualdub has detected an improper VBR audio encoding in the source AVI file and will rewrite the audio header with standard CBR values during processing for better compatibility. This may introduce up to 5959 ms of skew from the video stream. If this is unacceptable, decompress the *entire* audio stream to an uncompressed AV file and recompress with a constant bitrate encoder. (bitrate: 120.0 +/- 12.7 kbps.

Long story short, I save the wav uncompressed from within VD as it suggests, and I select "wav file" as the audio source when I do my reencode. Anyway, the audio skew is still present!

    Anyone help?

  2. Try using the mp3-freeze version of Vdub. I get the best results when I frameserve through Vdub mp3-freeze using both the audio and video in Tmpge. You can also frameserve w/ video only to make a m2v file then convert your wav file to mp2 in Toolame and multiplexing in Tmpge.

  3. This works for me:
    - save the wav using direct stream copy in VirtualDub
    - open the wav in Nero Wave Editor
    - save the wav as PCM wave
    - use that wav as audio source in TMPGenc
Then is should be in synch.

  4. I've done that before, but why do I have to use the wav in tmpenc? That adds lots of time to the process. Why can't I just do it in VD showing it the wav as the source audio? I tried that and it didn't work!

...but it does work if I do it in tmpgend and THEN do my divx encode.

  5. That's why you have to use TMPGenc.
It would work with VD for me too
