I have been trying to burn SVCD's and I'm not sure what I am doing wrong. Here is the situation:

    1) The first set of svcd's I burned using Ulead Video Studio 6 on CD-R Media ( Maxell and AT&T brands) None of these will play in my DVD player which is a Samsung S221. I checked the compatibility list and this player should be able to handle these. The svcd will play on my daughters very cheap APEX player! If I record on a CD RW I can get it to play on the samsung
    2) Next I tried rendering the mpg in ulead and buring the CDR with with nero 5.5.10. In this case I can get the menu's to come up but can not select anything to play. It sounds as if the dvd player is still trying to load the cd. Once again... no problem on the Apex player.

By the way, what i am trying to burn are still photos that I ahve put into a slideshow on ulead with transitions and audio. I use the ulead setting sfor creating svcd's, create the mpeg2 file and then burn to cd.

I'm sure I am doing something wrong here but i don't know what.

Is there a test file on this site that I can download and try?

    Thanks

My $53 US Apex plays anything I put in it, while my more expensive (and now returned) $130 multi-disk player wouldn't play 'spec' SVCD's. If it plays in the Apex and your PC, then it's not the burning software.

I think your Samsung sucks, go get another Apex? the 'compatability list' needs to be taken with a grain of salt,a nd you ahve to verify serial numbers are in sequence.
