  1. Hello everybody!

I was wondering about aspect ratio: My source is a NTSCFilm, 16:9 progressive DVD. When I encode it with Tmpeg in svcd with an aspect ratio of 16:9 the picture quality is bad and it has like a mosaic pixel grid.
Am I doing something wrong or is: source aspect ratio always the target aspect ratio? This is a little confusing for me.

  2. I've learned that when you load your file into Tmpge using the wizard, the only aspect ratio setting I change is on the source range page. Under other settings click advanced then under video arrange method click full screen (keep apsect ratio 2). This makes my svcds look great.

    Hope this helps.

  3. This is what I normally do but with this movie it leaves me with 2 black bars in the mpeg. Bar 1 is from encoding, Bar2 is from the actual movie. So 2 thirds of the screen consist of black bars and only 1 third is left for the actual movie.........

  4. You could try using 'Full Screen', and that will use the whole screen, but if your origional movie is widescreen, then the results tend to look stretched out.
