I recently bought the DVR105. I burned the dvd-rw that came in the box, but when I tried to erase it (quick erase with the latest nero), it just hung for a long time (the progress bar got to 100%, then just stopped there) and eventually it said "logical unit not ready" or something like that. Afterward, I couldn't write to the disk any more ("failed to start" or something).
I thought this was just a case of a bad disk, but recently I got a 10 pack of princo dvd-rws, and the same thing happened. Burning produces a disk that works, but I can't erase it. Is this a known problem, or is there something I can do to troubleshoot this?

Cendyne are made by Pioneer and I have a Pioneer AO4 and never had a problem bring it back and get a new one

The cendyne came with a dvd-rw? Mine came with a crappy princo dvd-r. Oh well, I guess you got lucky.
I've had no problems with dvd-rw on my dvr-105. I use maxell dvd-rw. Princo media isn't the best in the world, go to your local store and pick up some brand name media and try it out. It might just be the media issue. -
Have you applied the latest patches for Nero and firmware for the 105 (v1.21), the 105 is new enough to possibly require a patch on alot of sw

I'm using what I think is the latest nero (5.5.10.7), and my drive was already at the latest firmware (or so the firmware updater says...). Maybe it is the media (like those memorex cdrw's...they fail all the time); the one that came in the box looks exactly like the princo ones I bought. I'll pick up an rw from some store around here and try that out, thanks.

My junk is Imation brand and I have not tried another brand yet. ANYWAY SEE MY OTHER POST
