I tried searching to see if this has been covered here before, but the best I could find is suggestions for what programs to use, but I could find no indepth reviews or comments from users of these programs, so if it has been answered before, please bear with me!

I already know about several programs that allow me to convert SWF files into AVI files, so I am not necesarilly looking for recommendations of which programs to use. However, the freeware that I have tried (RAD video tools, TMPGenc2.5) does not work, and I even tried Macromedia Flash 5 and the majority of my SWF files come up as unable to export to AVI because the file is protected. There are a few SWF files I have that allowed me to export them as AVI files, but the end result came up with no audio. Same with my RAD Video Tools. I have tried some other freeware programs with the same results: the animation converts to AVI beautifully, but I get no audio whatsoever. I have even tried to convert the audio only to WAV, figuring I could combine the two with VirtualDub, but I always get some kind of error message, even after playing with the out put settings.

I already know about SWF2AVI and Quick Time Pro 6, but both of those programs cost money, and I am unwilling to spend thirty dollars or whatever on a program unless I have a 100% guarantee it will work for what I am trying to do. I already tried it with Macromedia Flash 5.0, so you can understand my reluctances to try any more programs outside of freeware in trying to get my SWF files to convert to AVI with the audio intact.

If anybody has experience in this, please give me a few pointers, and let me know if you know how SWF2AVI or Quick Time Pro 6 are and if they are worth buying.
