  1. I have an xvid avi file that I'm trying to put on vcd. (I've done this many times before with divx avi's and I've had no problems, but this is the first time I've come across an xvid avi.)

According to VDub, this particluar xvid avi is XVid MPEG-4 Codec Video Stream, and Fraunhaufer IIS MPEG Layer-3 Codec. Audio is VBR.

I've gone through all the steps that I normally do with divx avi's.
    (In VDub)
    1) open file
    2) audio<full processing
    3) audio<No compression
    4) audio<conversion<44100
    5) save wav

I changed my settings in TMPG before I encoded, as instructed by this guide: https://www.videohelp.com/forum/userguides/119019.php

Then I used TMPG to encode, using my original xvid avi file, and the audio is the wav I extracted using VDub. But now my sound is out of sync! It is way before it should be. Am I going about this completely wrong?? Is there a completely different way things are supposed to be done with xvid avi's, as compared to divx avi's?

Please, please, please. Can anybody help me? Does anybody know what I'm doing wrong? How can I get my sound back in sync? This is SO frustrating!!! I NEED HELP!!!

Thanks so much for any help........

  2. Hmmm, as far as I can see you're doing nothing wrong.
Does the sound skew get worse during the movie?
If the displacement is constant then you could try to set the audio gap.

  3. I checked it, you can find "audio gap correction" under the "source range" tab in TMPGenc.

    cheers
