i recently ripped a movie that was 5gb, after i dumped the French, Spanish, and German 5.1 audio tracks, the movie was 4gb, and i got wondering, how much room do subtitles and audio tracks acctually take up ??
it was the first time i had ever just ripped the movie and dumped the redundant soundtracks, and it played on my standalone..
well happy

Well...
It depends on what bitrate you use (of course).
Most Dolby Digital 5.1 files uses bitrates of 384 kbit/sec or 448 kbit/sec. DTS files are much bigger though (bitrate 1536 kbit/sec), so the size depends on the bitrate factors. Most likely 1 hour of dolby digital 384 kbit/sec may be something like 140 mbytes of size(I haven't calculated it exactly). You could also extract an ac3-file from one vob-file to check the actual size of it. download a vobtrailer and use TMPGEnc...I wanna be bigger, stronger, drive a faster car...
