When you use SubRip, what colour settings do you use for subtitles??

I'm using DVDMaestro, but even when I select the Maestro preset I still have incorrect colors after compiling.

I already tried loading the spf-colour palet in Maestro and even tried copy and pasting the subtitle colour from another disc's original IFO file.

I managed to get the colours right, but I'm missing the black outline.
Apparently the color scheme that you see in SubRip is not the way it'll look like after compiling?

What SubRip settings do I need to make it correct? You can adjust values, 0,1,2,3 and colourschemes.... ??
Is there a way to make it right from the first time??

had the same problem with Scenarist. Subripped scripts gave me all kinds of silly outlines or purple fonts, etc.

Don't know what the DVDMaestro script format looks like, but it should be ASCII and it should have a colour scheme somewhere in the header. It's a four digit - colour scheme. There are only 16 combinations, so what I did for Scenarist was to decide what I liked most by changing combinations. This saved me the need to rip the VOBs each time I tried to change combinations from within subripper.

the 4 colours refer to background, font, outline and antialiasing. I have found that using the same colour for background and antializing has a better readability.
The more I learn, the more I come to realize how little it is I know.
