  1. I look at these forums and am shocked at all of the errors and problems that people have with Instant Copy. They rushed this to the market too quickly, just to get it out. I hate how these companies rush this software with bug after bug. At least when DVD2ONE came out there were very few errors. The only complaint was the quality not the bugginess.

Well InstantCopy is certainly doing a more complex job of reproducing the entire structure of the DVD not just doing the main movie. This significantly complicates things. Actually I've had few problems.

For me the issue is and remains the quality of transcoding. I am still firmly in the DVD2DVD-R camp. It takes longer but most of it is my computer doing its thing not me looking at the screen.

Setting up DVD2DVD-R takes me maybe 5 minutes (I usually make a Daemon image but this is not required so I don't include it the 5 minute estimate). When I come back, its still necessary to author and then burn.

This is not such a big deal and no one can argue about the quality.

I would agree but the price tag on CCE is ridiculous...I LIKE DVD2DVD-R but why couldn't it use other encoders ?

Have you auctually used the program yourself? Seems like your just judgeing it off other peoples opinions.Try it yourself first.

I have and i love it.Instant copy kicks the crap out of DVD2One anyday!

And i've not experienced any errors so far.The DVDs i've made with it play great without any problems.

  6. I've used both without any problems. Both produce an acceptable copy as far as I'm concerned.

If you like menus and extras, use InstantCopy.

If you don't like menus and extras, use DVD2One, it's quicker.

That's rich coming from someone who slated MakeItEasy because he was too stupid to use it.
The words 'kettle', 'black', 'pot' and 'extremely two-faced' mean anything to you?

Wrong.Unlike mikef07,i did'nt just listen to others opinion on the program.I auctually tried out Makeiteasy and seen for myself, how crappy it is.

Sorry if you can't handle my opinion on the subject. But makeiteasy is just a lame,half-assed program that can't even keep from crashing most of the time before accomplishing what it was meant to do.Besides if DVD2One was THAT great a program. It would not require something crappy like MakeItEasy to help it do what it should be able to do on its own.

InstantCopy on the otherhand is tottally independant and can handle everything on its own, without the use of crap thirdparty programs like MakeItEasy

  9. I find Instant Copy to be a great program. I have not had any issues with it on my 2.4Ghz and neither has someone who is running it on a 700Mhz system. The ability to remove titles or set the quality of each title separately puts this out in front of all other DVD-9 to DVD-R progams. Too bad you guys are having problems, this software really does DVDMagic.

Exactly how do you remove titles/extras? I'm still a bit new to the program

  11. Search your registry for the DWORD DVDMagic. It is in there twice. Change the setting to 1. The default is 0.

What do you mean by the registery? Where do i find it?

  13. If you don't know what your registry is, then you probably better not touch it or you'll screw up your whole operating system.

Not trying to be harsh, just realistic.

  15. You go to Start>Run and type "regedit" (without quotes) This brings up your OS registry, assuming you're using some incarnation of Windows. MAKE A BACKUP COPY BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING ELSE

Hit F3 (for Find) and do the search for the registry keys, or use the drop down menus across the top.

Don't mess with anything you don't need to. Good luck. And don't say I didn't warn you.

I would respectfully disagree that the application was released too early. In fact I think a good argument could be made that DVD2ONE was released too early and with not enough functionality to cover all of the scenarios that one may encounter backing up a DVD. Multi-episodic and complex menu's are a real issue for DVD2ONE. Additionally, there is the "Encrypted Data Detected" error, that has yet to be resolved. The demo of Instant Copy was able to backup 3 separate titles that DVD2ONE choked on. While people wait for the DVD2ONE folks to release added functionality beyond v1.01, I'll eagerly await my copy of Instant Copy from J&R. When DVD2ONE can do any DVD title, menu's and extras, we can have an apples to apples discussion about the two products.

  17. Actually Instant Copy is quite good. Better than DVD2one and DVDXCOPY. It is nice to have all the menus on one DVD with quality like the movie only under DVD2ONE BUT Instant Copy is SLOWWWW 5-6 hours for me. But great results! The name is a misnomer though. Instant!??

So what if it is slow? The results are well worth it.

DVD2One may be a lot faster, but what does it matter? The speed is useless if the program cannot do what you need it to.

Auctually yes it is Instant.Meaning all that you have to fool with is InstantCopy,no other crappy programs are required.Making the process incredabley simple and easy.InstantCopy handles Everything on its own, even the burning.
