  1. I have 4x 700mb super high quality SVCD files here that I want to convert over to a DVD format to burn on my DVD-rw drive. I went about the normal way of using TMPGENc to open the files, but when I extracted the *.ISO of the svcd, i went into the MPEG folder to open it, but TMPGENc gives me this error:

File "C:\VideoCD\MPEG2\AVSEQ01.MPG" can not open or, unsupported.

Does anyone know how to resolve this?

When you say DirectShow is at one, is it the highest of all priorities listed, and your version of TMPGEnc, is it registered TMPGEnc Plus, on an unregistered version with the MPEG-2 plugin, or unregistered without the plug in, and if it is the last one mentioned, has it expired?
    Hello.

I Have had the same problem with some SVCDs. It is not only Tmpgenc that cannot import these MPEG-2 streams but also any other program I have, including DVD2AVI, FlaskMPEG, VirtualDUB (even the one mod that reads MPEG-2 files) as well as some MPEG fixer programs.

I have come to the conclusion that these SVCDs of mine were encoded in a rather non-standard way that although alows the disks to be played on desktop DVD players, makes them incompatible with software.

I have managed to re-create one of these by capturing the DVD player output back into the PC. Messy, but it did the job.

Perhaps this may help you, however this SVCD mystery is one I would be happy to have a solution for.
The more I learn, the more I come to realize how little it is I know.
