  1. I would like to make extremely simple DVD's without menus, using MPEG2 files created by CCE (PAL) or Procoder (NTSC converted from PAL) and WAV audio files exported from Premiere or Procoder. Basically I would love to find some software where I can just drag the MPEG2 and the WAV files into a "first play" holder and then leave it to it. If it can go straight into a burn after authoring then even better...and if it can burn a DVD-R AND save an image folder to my hard disk, even better.

Basically I'm looking for the DVD equivalent of dragging an MPEG1 into Nero and burning a VCD.

I've tried demos of most of the usual suspects and found them to be unstable or difficult to use or just plain won't do the job..

    Any ideas?

  2. My burned DVD-Rs are as simple as you describe. What I do is author the video and audio files with IfoEdit, creating the proper file structure. Then I burn with Nero (UDF 1.02). I get a simple DVD that I pop in the player and it just begins playing the movie only.

  3. Thanks for the input.

I tried that last night, and wrote a couple of different VIDEO_TS folders on my hard drive (one PAL, one NTSC). When I played them direct from the hard drive using WinDVD the audio was fine but the video was jumpy and speeded up.

Maybe I need to change a setting in Ifoedit but I couldn't find anything.

  4. daesdaemar, how are you creating your MPEG2 files, and are you using .WAV audio or something else?

    cheers

  5. Sonic MyDvd will do this but it insists on converting all the audio to uncompressed PCM.

Ulead DVD WS (and maybe the cheaper MF) will do this.

    SpruceUp Will do this.

  6. Ulead DVD Movie Factory will do this. I tried it out for the first time last night. Just start it up, drag your (DVD compatible) MPEG2 file into it and get it to burn the disc for you. It's so simple, I couldn't believe how easy it was ... and the discs work on a standalone player!
