Efficient way to convert video dimentions?

Hi,

I want to convert a movie i have to PAL standards (720 x 576), but the movie i have is in 480 x 480 - ive tried using flaskmpeg but it takea bout 9 hours estimated. The movie is in three parts of 45 mins.

what format are you dealing with and why do u want to convert?

any conversion will lose quality unless you're using a lossless codec and/or resizing the width and height by whole numbers only.

Hi,

Sorry for the long delay, ive been away for a few days.

The Video is *sigh* NTSC format 29.9 FPS in AVI - around 800mb per division (3 divisions). As i live in the UK i want it in PAL - I dont know what the best way to change the dimentions as they are 480 x 480 - and i need PAL defaults (720 x 576).

I guess you're converting to DVD... I think the best way is to open the AVI files in TMPGEnc and re-encode them as 720x576. It will take a looong time but there isn't much else you can do.
