Hi,
I'm trying to convert a DivX to SVCD, I've extracted the audio and am using standard settings (2 pass VBR), in TMPEnc all goes well until approx 50% of the way through, when it fails with a general protection fault closing the application.
I've since downloaded DivXFix and 'Checked for Errors' and 'Rebuilt the index', the index works fine, but when checking for errors I get loads of entries in the text field stating error found.
What am I supposed to do in DivXFix to correct these errors?, do I need to, is this the reason my encoding is failing?
I've read in some posts that the index is right at the end of the movie clip so could that be what causing the crash (i.e. at the end of the first pass)?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks for reading Mark

in the help file for divfix it explains that it is used for the purpose of viewing partially downloaded files, not fixing files that have been downloaded. use virtual dub to fix errors in your divx/avi. the help section of vdub will explain to you how to do this. basically if you do it right vdub will save you a new avi without errors. vdub can be gotton from the tools section here and it is free.

You can just cut off the last few frames in the Source range. It worked fine for me.
