Originally I used dvddecrypter to rip a movie and then used dvd2one to compress it and then used recordnowmax 4.5 to burn it. My movies all came out region free.
I just purchased instantcopy 7 but it hasnt gotten here yet. I plan on ripping everything with dvddecrypter (file mode) then use instantcopy 7 to make full 1:1 backup of movies. Do I need to change anything to make them region free? I am worried that if I rip everything with dvddecrypter they won't be region free.
Thanks for any help.

Use a freeware application called IFOEdit to split your DVDs and you can make them region free with a push of a button.

DVDR's are all region free. The region locks only apply to playing. So you can rip a disc that's any region. Once you re-encode/re-author all region info is lost.

If the movies are already ripped and burned to DVD-R you don't need to re-rip them, just do a disc copy with Nero or another burning app.
