  1. I have some vcds which I want to put onto dvd disks (my new dvd player wont play vcds but plays dvd disks).

Vcds I have are in dat format. I have used vcd gear to convert to mpeg1 format.

Can anyone tell me the quickest way to convert these to dvd.

I have tried one guide but had to use tmpeg, then besuite then spruce up and this seem to take forever.

I have read you can burn mpeg1 to dvd with certain programs with little conversion. My dvd player reads both mpeg 1 & mpeg2.

I am not bothered about menus or chapters (would be nice to have them) and I know the quality won't be anyt better than the quality I already have.

    Any suggestions will be appreciated.

    Thanks

  2. DVDMaestro will accept CBR VCD files as input for DVD, you have to demux the audio and video into separate files, resample the audio to 48 Khz; both of which can be done with TMPGEnc and make sure the audio file extension is .mpa.

Make sure your audio is at 48000Hz Frequency or your DVD authoring program will not accept your VCD. :P

  4. Thanks both for reply.

I did have DVDmaestro but it wouldn't recognize the mpeg format.

Realise now that I didn't change the audio.

  5. I drag .DAT files(from VCD) to a folder,rename the extension to .MPG,set up a 352x240 MPEG-2 48khz profile in VideoStudio,drop in timeline,convert and burn.

  7. I couldn't get DVD Mastreo to work with my mpeg 1 files. Ulead DVD Movie factory would take them, but it would aways be out of sync after I burned it.
