  1. Has anyone tried the new dvd compliant mmc 7.7 with their TV Wonder Capture card? According to the ati site mmc7.7 is not compatible with it but is compat with the AllinWonder.

I'd love to not have to convert the files before burning and was wondering if anyone has successfully installed it with their TV Wonder Card.

  2. I don't have a TVW, but from what I understand, it has a limitation with MMC 7.7 that only supports 240 lines of resolutions (because it can't capture and preview 480i simultaneously).

MMC 7.7 can be DVD-compliant, the only fix that was introduced in MMC 7.7.0.1 was that I-frame only captures were not DVD compliant (not sure why you'd want to do I-frame only anyway, unless you had a slow CPU).

If you select 352x240, IBBP (default GOP settings), and 48kHz, it will be DVD compliant, though some DVD authoring tools do not accept MPEG1 audio for DVDs.

    Yes! Tried and failed!

However, you may have better luck than me. I had to re-install my OS to get back to normal again. My attempt was to try and overcome the cap resolution limitation in MMC 7.1.

From the comments in this forum, I feel it may be a compatibility problem with WIN2K, but without question, I shall never try it again. I'd rather just re-size in TEMPGenc during encoding - less effort required !!

    Good Luck!
