Hello all,
I am in the process of building my pc into a pvr. I have digital cable and thus require a program that can control my set top box. So far I have found show shifter which uses the irman to control the cable set top box. So far so good. Now the hard part. I do not have a capture card or a video out card and am looking for your advice.
I have been reading up on the ATI 7500 and it seems to fit the bill, but it doesn't look like it can capture in avi format. It is supported by show shifter and has video tuner capabilities as well as video ouput capabilities.
My ultimate goal is to be able to capture both digital television signals, and analog source material (old vhs tapes) in avi and/or mpeg2 format, and store them on DVD with really good quality. Will the ATI 7500 work? What other suggestions might you have?
Thanks in advance,
Russ Fulks
