  1. Ok I just got a new computer and no matter what burning program I use I cannot make a vcd or svcd.

When I open nero I choose my recorder and all it says is "image recorder"
What exactly is going on here?
Is my recorder not being recognized or something

When I try to use vcd easy it complains about aspi drivers.

Can someone shed some light on this problem before I go out of my mind

    Thanks in advance

    install force aspi above ..

make sure your recorder is supported by nero ...

is your recorder operating as a normal playback device ok ? if not ..maybe its not hooked up correctly .

    vcd4me,
I am sure your record is not supported by Nero. I have had the same problem with my LG-8520B record (new model). You must need upgrade Nero for your CD-Record.
    Good luck.

  4. Thanks guys,

The computer is a laptop and it's a dvd/cd-rwombo drive. It does play fine and like I said I can't even get vcd easy to work.

I am going to see if I can figure out what kind of dvd/cd-rw drive I have and check to see if it is supported by nero.

I'm back and it is supported by nero.

I noticed that under the properties of the drive>recording> it says

"select a drive where windows can store an image of the cd to be written. the image file may use up to 1GB of disc space"

    Could this be the problem?

    Thanks again

if nero can not find a burner it supports - it can write an image file ...

which means that nero doesnt see your burner .. laptops often have special drivers and such .. check thier drivers available for your model
