  1. i'm using a new hp external dvd writer...i recently switched my dvd writing software to ULead DVD Workshop... everything works great...until i reach the 100% burned mark, at which time, the DVD ejects and i get the error:

"Generic Error from CD/DVD recording software. Please make sure the drive is ready and try again. Error: TAO-2048-SPTI-00-02-05-72-03"

i've tried making 10 different discs with different video and menu styles...but all errored out...any ideas? I'm going bonkers with this! thanks ahead of time guys, i could really use the help!

update: re-installed software, and it still errors the same way...
    anyone with some ideas?

  3. It may be your media. I had the same exact problem using the dvd-rw disc provided with my dvd burner. When I switched to verbatim dvd-r discs, I no longer had that problem. All of my burns were fine. Try switching media.

also...i tried to use ulead to make an iso file to burn with nero but for some reason, even though i chose my external dvd burner and NOT by regular cd burner, nero asks me to insert a CDR/CDRW? and if i try to make an nero img file, it tells me that the nero img file can NOT be more than 2gb?

i have been thinking about it and cant really give you a solution ..

other than try the burner in another machine (bad burner?)

or try another burner in your machine (bad "your machine"?)
