  1. I need help here. When I download something of Kazaa whihc is a MPG format, when I try to burn it it, it tells me if I wasnt to encode it. I always say no and when I burn it and play it in my DVD machine the picture is fine but the sound goes all funny. It sort of goes extremely quick. I am using Nero to burn my CDs. Do I have to select a different option to correct the sound??
    Help will be nice..

Just because it's MPG doesn't make it possible to use as source material for (S)VCD. Take a look at the mpegs resolution and bit rates, and reencode to specs if they are off.
You could also try and just remultiplex it as VideoCD (Non Standard) with TMPGEnc MPEG Tools. Depending on your player, you may be able to play it even if it's off specs.

  3. Do you use a burning software like Nero or Adaptec Easy CD Creator to bur the mpg? Or do you use software like VCDEasy?
If everything is infinite then nothing is definite.

  4. Just because a file is in the mpg format, does not necessarily mean that it is VCD compliant. If Nero is telling you that it wants to reencode the file, then ther must be something about it which is non compliant. You can choose to ignore this warning and make a non standard VCD(XVCD), but some players will have problems playing these discs correctly. Try reencoding with TMPGEnc using a VCD template to make a compliant mpg file and then create your VCD. There will be a slight degredation in quality due to you reencoding the file, but it should at least play properly.
