  1. ok, i may be wrong, but i can almost swear that i used to be able to input mpeg2 files into tmpgenc to manipulate to any standard or setting that i felt like.....i haven't done any encoding in a while, so i do not remember exactly...i upgraded tmpgenc to j or something and now even in my old copy of the software, it will not let me manipulate the video portion of a mpeg2 file...when i choose such a video file, it always shows up as mux://c:\folder&fileinfohere, in the video selection line....when i try to remove the mux:// from the line then encode, it always says file not found now, while i am certain that the file i specify is actually where i point the video line to...this only happens with mpeg2....i do not want to resort to flask for manipulation of my mpeg2 files, so can anyone offer a fix or suggestion? maybe a registry hack or alteration? what the hell man?

  2. Hmm? I don't remember this being a feature of TMPGenc. What do you mean by 'manipulate to any standard or setting I felt like?' What could you do before? Are you talking about cutting, editing, demuxing, or what?

You need an MPEG 2 codec installed to use mpg2 files in TMPEG Enc.

    Hope it helps...

  4. oh crap! stupid me, lmao! - i totally forgot about that because my mpeg2 files play fine, due to the fact that i only use my realmagic HARDWARE card to play these files. That is how i easily forgot to check for the codec on my system. Low and behold, i tried to open the an mpeg2 file in windows media and it said that the codec was not present. Somehow, since long ago, the codec was removed from my system. Great! Problem solved. Getting codec now and all will be functional again. Thanks alot man.
