  1. Hello,

I have a DVD which has NTSC MPEG-1 menu and PAL MPEG-2 main video file. I am trying to convert the menu into PAL format for consistency.

Is there any utility or software that can do so?

  2. well, let's put it easier.

If I have a complete NTSC format DVD5.
What is the easiest way to convert into a brand-new PAL format DVD5?

    Hi,

I have a few NTSC dvd's as well (mostly thos IMAX ones and a couple of doco's).

I've had little success in converting directly between NTSC and PAL. You might have more success going from NTSC to Film (24fps) and then from there to PAL....there is a tool out there that can do a half decent job but the name escapes me (I found it here in the forums once via a google search).

The alternate is to mess with the signal that comes from the back of your player. You can split the composite signal into RGB and Sync signals and then re-combine them into PAL...you TV needs to support 60Hz signals to get this to run though (a lot do). You can buy a box that does this for you but it is around AU$500. Alternatly you can spent $120 on a cheap DVD player....most can play NTSC DVD's on Pal TV's.
