I just got 8 Mile in Xvid AVI format. I have the Xvid codec and the Nimo Codec Pack. When I watch it, its got a green screen over it. Ive tried to encode it and I get a green screen. I tried VDub but when I tried to play the finished product out of VDub it didn't play at all. Can anyone help me?

    Thanx

  2. It's just a case of trial and error when installing the Xvid codecs.
Remove the Nimo pack for a start as it is a waste of time (in my experience anyway) and reinstall the codecs you actually need, divx5.02, Xvid, ac3 etc..
I found 3 different xvid codecs on kazaa all different file sizes, one was called alpha, this codec works with all my films, (inc 8 Mile) and seems to plough on through bad frames when encoding too (could be either a good or bad thing!!)
Reinstall your codecs one by one then make a note of the date's of the dll files, that way you will know what codecs you are using actually work for you.

I have a alternative way of dealing with Xvid's with Ac3; read my old posts. I'm busy making a guide converting Xvids with Ac3 using Panasonic MPEG1 & Cillers Ac3 tool. I promise you; this way works 99% !

The xvid I have now plays but I think I have a bad frame or something in it because when I went to encode it, it just freezes near the end but the audio still goes on. How do I fix this?
