Have had DVR-103 for about a year. Used to burn only about 10 DVD's. They all play fine on my Apex 1200, as well as on the DVR-103 drive itself. I was assuming that I was doing OK. Today I install a DVD-114 (DVD_Rom, also pioneer) and what do I see. The DVD-R disks won't play. Windows cannot even read them. Then I find out that the same think occurs in my laptop DVD drive (Matshita UJDA-740). And then I run a DVD-RW with the same content-- it reads fine in both drives.
This occurs with 4 different DVD-R titles. All the same generic DVD-r media. All play back fine on my APEX player, fine on the DVR-103 on which they were burned and not at all on the other drives. Tried new firmware in all drives -- no help.
I figure: either the media or my DVR-103 drive. I have some Princo 1x DVD-R ordered. But I am hoping some kind soul can enlighten me sooner.
Thanks
