I AM REPOSTING THIS 'CAUSE I HAVE YET TO RECIEVE AN ANSWER AND THERE IS NO INFORMATION ON THIS IN THE RECENT FORUM TOPICS.
How do I re-edit a dvd that has already been burned? If you have a dvd and want to work with the video on it, you need to have that video in avi so you can reedit it in something like premier.
How does one go about doing that?
Thank you,

Ok, I'll jump in (I need the votes).
You'll want to use one of the ripping tools in the tool section. If you want an avi I suggest dvd2avi, a freeware program. If you are recovering your own video on a DVD you are not truly fully ripping (decrypting etc.) but it does the job. https://www.videohelp.com/tools#decPanasonic DMR-ES45VS, keep those discs a burnin' -
The information you are requesting is rather vague on your part. Some programs have an on disc edit like My DVD, DVD it, but you probably are not using one of these hence the post, they are not very good anyway, also RW may be a better choice for re-editing, you also do not say what type of video it is. Is it trur DVD re: VOB est ?I will assume it to be DVD; therefore you must rip the information back to your hard drive into some kind of workable file. Again you do not say what you want to do with the information EDIT covers a VERY large array. You can rip it back to VOB and then either use DVD2AVI or many other programs, and transform it into an AVI for editing or into a .d2v and wave and convert to an mpg2, with TMPGEnc for re-authoring with programs like DAZZLE DVD Complete, Unlead DVD Workshop or many others. The question may seem simple on the surface but there are many answers to the seemingly simple tasks we face in video editing...... Please re define what it is you have and exactly what you want to accomplish and you may have better success in the forum environment.
