  1. I have come across a strange problem with a dvd that I am ripping. the dvd has mpeg audio and not dolby digital. When I rip the movie and run it through dvd2avi to get the wav file it spits out a mpa file. I can't get the mpa (mpeg?) file to work with TMPGEnc so I'm at a loss of what to do. I used smartrip to do the ripping of the vob files. Does anyone have any idea what to do with a dvd that doesn't have a dolby track? It seems like there is no docs out there for this at all.

  2. I actually found the answer to this myself, after some diggin in fairly old sites (ie way out of date). Tmpgenc did at one time support mpa audio, but no longer does in newer versions. I found a version of that was old enough to fix the problem. 12a I belive was the one that I found. Just in case someone else runs across this problem.

Was that MPEG audio on your DVD multichannel? That might explain why newer versions of TMPGEnc don't support it. However, if it was just a stereo MPEG audio track, I find it highly curious that TMPGEnc wouldn't support that, as the very audio TMPGEnc spits out on the (S)VCD encodes is ... you guessed it ... MPEG audio!
