I used Sefy's newbit guide to backup my Shaft DVD (Smart Ripper, DVD2AVI, tmpgenc). However, the result is lacking smooth color. It looks like there was not enough colors in the palette, like viewing a 16-bit image using 8-bit palette. In tmpgenc when I am in the source range screen to select the cut-off point, the picture looks very clear there. I've tried SVCD, VCD setting, the Forced FILM setting vs. None in DVD2AVI, the PC vs. TV color space, and nothing seemed to help. I've made 2 other VCD backups without problem, someone please tell me what's happening here! Thanks.
Andy
