Fist of all I apologise for posting twice with the same question... but..
I have not yet received an anser so:
my problem is the same that many others have incurred in: an mpg file
that works perfectly will result in a DVD with the audio out of sync
when authored with Ulead MF 2 or with DVD Workshop.
On the other hand the result will be perfect if I use either DVDit! PE
or SpruceUP.
WHY???????
As I said, I posted this question yesterday and the olny suggestion I got was to apply the latest patch for MF2. I have and it made no difference.
I hope someone knows what is causing this problem in MF2
and how to get around it.
Maybe one of the moderators could share some light on this issue.
Please: anyone! HELP! OK ?

I don't know what the problem is with responses except that other people must not be having the same problem.
I have an MPG2 file merged from several MPG2 files using TMPGenc. If I create a DVD using MF1, the audio is in sync. If I use MF2 it is out of sync by the end of the file. Size is 4.1GB for a total of about 2 hours.
MF2 remultiplexs the audio and video before it creates the VOB files. It is not re-encoding the project. I don't know what is wrong. I get the impression that VBR may be part of the problem. Merging several MPGs may also be a problem.
Let me know if you ever find a cause for the sync problem or better yet if you find a solution. -
How can we help you with the little information you post?
The only answer will be, there is something in the files your input to Moviefactory/Workshop and the result is no sync. Moviefactory/Workshop works different than other tools, that's why with other tools there is no problem.
How to fix. Change the input files, change software or wait for another release that maybe fix your problem.
I don't have problems with MF2, and the one I had was fixed by a simple multiplex with TMPGEnc.
EDIT: Hope you were able to fix your problems, didn't see that this post was more than a month old, sorry. -
If you're dropping in raw files, then you'll only get about 50% cooperation with MF2...that's alot of people's problem.
the solution: you will need to convert your files to DVD compliant MPG2 format using TMPGEnc before using MF2. Once this has been done, you shouldn't have a problem dropping them in.
FWIW, MF2 encodes at something like 4k bitrate...most of the episodes I want to encode are only 1300...so the wasted space isn't appreciated. -
well i think i am having the same problem but then everything works fine except for the sound in the movie part. it has no sound at all.. only on the menu and chapter menu has sound on it.. why my movie aint havin no sound??
Help... -
Mate, I have the same problem, but only with mpgs captured from my Happhauge 250 PVR. That is the mpg is just fine on a PC, but when authored the video and audio goes out of sync.
Converted downloaded films are fine, for those I use Virtadub/TMPEnc/Ulead but as I say captuted mpgs are shi*e.
As for an answer, sorry but I'm still working on it. -
So there's no way of gettin the sound to work on the movie part? because if theres nothin that nobody can do, then i need to transfer to another dvd authoring program just like MF2.......
-
I have MF2 however I mostly use this program which does the same thing and more plus it never fails.

Good question and I don't see a demo on the site. Maybe email them and ask for one. I actually started out with NeoDVD basic which came with a capture card I had purchased. I liked it so much (mainly because it worked well) that I went ahead and paid for the Plus version online.

I just emailed them myself and asked why no demo. When I get an answer I will post it here.

Bob,
Maybe you can help me out. I have an XVID of a film that I want to convert to DVD.
I checked for bad frames using Virtuadub, no frames detected.
Then I converted to MPG2, using TMPEnc, Sound and Video in perfect sync.
But when authored using MF1, the sound is out by about 0.5 sec. This happens only on a few films and its driving me nuts. Also when I capture MPGS using my hauppague PCR250, the same thing happens.
I have tried the trial download of MF2, with no luck there either.
I really want to keep using MF, so any help would be apprciated.
Thanks

Well I'm no expert at this like we have around here. I do know that at one time I had MF1 and had similar audio sync problems but that seems to have gone away when I installed MF2. Really the only thing I have ever used MF1 or 2 for is to capture from VHS and make a DVD from that captured DVD compliant mpeg2. I use a cheap Aver capture card and have never had any problems with that card on any of several programs I tried before with the exception of Studio8 which didn't see the card.
All I can think of is your mpeg2 file must not be DVD compliant but that doesn't make any sense because if it wasn't MF1 would not even open it in the first place. I can't help you with TMPEnc since I have never used it sorry.
Have you tried contacting Ulead tech support to hear what they have to say about it? Also I see they have a support forum so I suggest you post your problem there and perhaps get some help. http://www.ulead.com/tech/forums.htm -
Cheer Bob, the last time I looked at Ulead forum, a few months ago, I couldn't find an answer.
And your right, Ulead wouldn't even entertain the mpg if it wasn't DVD compliant.
