  1. I'm having problems converting some of the newer dvd rips (avi's).
The video is coming out fine, but the audio, after it is converting, is gone. I also get this wierd message in VirtualDub saying that it has detected an improper VBR audio encoding in the source. What do I need to do to fix the audio?

    Thanks in advance

  2. I am having the SAME problem. I can make DVD rips that are AVI or MPEG that will play just fine in (WinXP) Media player. But when I run TMPGENC to convert it into VCD format, the video comes out great, but the audio gets totally stripped from the final product.

I have downloaded and installed everything I can find, including the Nimo bundle, AC3 filter, Tsunami filter, Morgan stream switcher, DIVX Total Pack, TFM filter, TOOLAME filter, etc.

The strange thing is that some of the rips do convert video and audio properly, but most do not bring over the audio, and for the life of me I can't figure out why. I have jiggled all kinds of settings in TMPGENC hoping to stumble upon something, but so far nothing I've tried has made a difference.

Anyone have any ideas / suggestions?

im guessing here, but i think youll have an ac3 audio file, or some other that tmp doesnt support very well.

what youve got to do is get virtual dub and rip the audio into a file on its own, then just try adding it as audio, failing that look at FAQ this subject is coverd there
