  1. ok i'm not sure where to post this question becuase it involves capturing but i'm asking about burning. But anyways, if i capture dv from a camera onto my computer in ntsc format (the camera is a dcr-trv520 NTSC). And i burn it using nero udf mode, will a pal dvd player/tv be able to play this dvd? (i videotaped something that needs to be sent to iran for them to watch, and i want to put it on dvd but i'm not sure if it's pal/ntsc or what, what do i do?

  2. Your friends in Iran will be able to watch the DVD only if the DVD player (and/or TV) is multi-system (PAL/NTSC) capable.

    a) If the TV is PAL only and the DVD Player is PAL/NTSC, then there should a switch on the DVD rear panel that switches between AUTO --> PAL --> NTSC. This switch must be set to PAL.

    b) If the DVD player and TV, both, are PAL/NTSC capable, set the above switch to AUTO or PAL.

    c) If the DVD player is PAL only then my guess (guess only) is that it may not be able to play an NTSC DVD. You may wish to convert your source from NTSC to PAL using s/w such as TMPGEnc. However, frame rate conversions (NTSC 29.97 fps to PAL 25 fps) results in choppy/blocky video.
