  1. Hello,

I managed to get an mpg-2 (SVCD) file with two audio tracks
(german and English). Now i want to cut it into two halfs to fit on 2 CD's.
But when i use TMPGEnc (Cut&Merge) i loose the second track

I allready tried to cut the second audio file before multiplexing it,
but then i get out of sync on the second CD.

What's the trick here ? Do i have to use a different tool or do i miss
    some options ?

TMPGenc is a horrible mpeg2 cutter. Use bbmpeg instead.

Encode each stream separately, so that you have 1 video track and 2 audio tracks. Then you use BBmpeg to multiplex and set a cut point. There is a guide on this site for it. I guarantee its the best way to cut mpeg2 in general, and definitely the best way to do it with multiple audio tracks.

If you don't have all the streams separate, then you can use TMPGenc's demultiplex (not simple demultiplex) to get each stream.

Make sure you get the latest version of bbmpeg, 1.24.

  3. Well, .... smart as i am i manged to find a way around that prob, still using tmpgenc.

I simply created two "big" files, one with german audio, one with english.

Then i cutted both files into two equal halfs (same timestamps).
After that I demuxed the english audio from the english halfs and muxed it onto the german
halfs. This is working fine, without any lip sync probs.

Still trying to find and easier, faster way,

    Grady

    PS: (SmartRipper -> dvd2avi --- BeSweet -> TMPGEnc) that's it.

If you want a faster and easier way then use bbmpeg like I said. You just encode all your streams separately, its faster that way anyway. Then you load them all and multiplex and cut at the same time.
