In the latest version of Nero.I use the "DVD-Video" compliation whenever burning movies to DVD.The resulting DVD-R works fine and plays great in DVD-R compatable players.Includeing the X-Box!

However i've heard some people mention burning in the "DVD UDF" mode stuff. Why would you want to do that for movies?

  2. Short verison is that Nero sucks are burning DVD video discs. The newest verison seems ok, but order verisons burnt in UDF 1.05 by default. Not all standalones can read/support UDF 1.05 (some can only read UDF 1.02).

So for people that were having trouble burning discs with nero it was suggest that you burn in UDF mode, then manually set it to UDF 1.02. However, if the newest verison of nero is working for you there's NO NEED to do this.

    Just use what works.

Well, I never got a DVD to work with the ISO/UDF template using UDF 1.02.

However, I burnt the same movie again, but this time I checked to "Force DVD Video compatibility mode" and the disc works perfectly.

I'm using the same DVD+RW again and again, so it can't be the media.

Funny thing is, with Princo 2x media I get successful burns, but they never work on my standalone player.
With the Nashua's 1x I I get an error in finalizing the disc, but those discs play smooth from A to Z.
