I've had problems with the last 2 videos I tried to re encode to fit on a dvd-r: Sweet Home Alabama, Bourne Identity, and Signs. I'm using Tmp to re encode using 2 X variable bit rate minimum being at 4800 and max being at 5500 with an average of 5300. Normally this seems to work really well, but the last 3 movie I had terrible jitters in the video. I have no idea what the problem is. I've backed movies up this way for well over a year with no problems. anyone seen this problem and no how to eliminate it?
Thanks.

you need to check the field order..some are bottom field and some are top field..
just my .02 cents -
It's probably the field order... You got the wrong field order and when you play the file you see like it's going back and forward and so on. Just go to Advanced and change the field order. That's my best guess. If that doesn't work -- Im out of ideas, sorry!

Make sure your DVD2AVI is set at FILM, if it isnt that can cause jerkiness. Also check your settings to this:

Hope that helps
