The speed of this software is amazing for the price. It has 1:1 encoding rate, maybe even a little faster if you set the rate control mode to Fast, and only costs $150 US. It has hundreds of advanced settings and the final quality is better than TMPGEnc. I have not heard much about MainConcept's MPEG Encoder software and do not know why. The design of the program is very professional and easy to follow. If you are looking for the performance of a thousand dollar video conversion package in an affordable price this is the way to go. I do not have any affiliation with this company. I am just very impressed at what this product can do. Hopefully their video editing packages are just as powerful. There is a full trial available exept that it puts a watermark over your video.

For about that same price, you can get Editstudio with their mpegXS encoder. The mpegXS is built on the main concept engine. Gives you an editor and conversion all in one. They also have a demo of each.
Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they?
