  1. As the Instant copy download site seems to be overloaded at the moment, could some kind person upload the trial demo to a newsgroup so we have a better chance of trying out this program.

I am sure that Pinnacle would welcome this action as it gives more people a chance to sample their product.

    cheers

It is already posted in this topic two other sites to d/l from.

But in other news, i have full sound during the whole movie, testing on SWII will post results, Took 2h 25 minutes to complete for minority report, that is rip to burn not bad, worth the extra time. In my opinion.

Dangit. i just ordered some 9.4GB flipper discs.... (thinking dvdxcopy is the only way to keep all menu's and stuff)...

guess I'll see if I can cancel the order before they ship!!!

Need to get this program... need... want... full... version.... ughh....

also wish they'd do an OS X version... takes longer streaming files between the PCheese and the Mac (where the DVD-R is)

  4. Hmm, if you guys are going to download the demo from me, please don't use things like Get Right that downloads the file using 4 clients at the same time. You can only have one client connected to me. By trying to connect 4 or more clients at the same time, it's killing the downloads of others.

I tried the registry change to enable only main movie selection. Didn't seem to work. Probably just need to spend some more time at this when it isn't 3am in the morning! It will be nice if this is a viable option so one can either do the entire DVD or just the main movie.

If anyone else tries this with success, please post.

Even though it says there's a 5 minute AC3 limit, I have full audio on the copy I made of Sweet Home Alabama.
Ok but you shure that your tracks are still AC3 all the way? It would suck on my home cinema without my beloved AC3 6 channels.

  10. I just did my second DVD (Spirited Away - NTSC R0 HK Import). The original was 6.78GB. I had it remove the extra Languages/Subtitles, leaving just Japanese 5.1 audio and English subtitles to maximize video quality. The total time from DVD-9 to DVD-R was just under 3.5 hours. 45 mins to rip with DVDDecrypter, 100 mins to shrink with InstantCopy and 55 mins to burn (x1 speed). This one also has AC3 all the way through.

  11. I've just downloaded the demo and i'm wondering why this "five" minutes of limited .AC3 pops up if everyone is able to get .AC3 all the way through. I hope we aren't missing something. Also, has anyone clicked on the "CD Wizard" and got it to open? I am just able to open the "multicopy" application. I guess it isn't a big deal because I can do what I need to within the Multicopy app, I was just curious if anyone was able to click on the CD Wizard icon and get that to open. It won't open for me. I am going to test this on a movie or two and see how the results are. If this is a legit 15 day FULL trial, that would be pretty tight. I guess I will find out soon. Still wondering why it says .AC3 is limited to 5 minutes though.

  13. I've just downloaded and this program looks like a fantastic piece of kit, will save all the trouble of manual backup with DVD2AVI, CCE, DVDMaestro etc.

I note someone said that the stream is not demuxed so sync should not be a problem, well if you do 'About' in the program you will see a list of drivers, including:

    VOB Stream Splitter
    VOB Stream Multiplexer
    VIB AC3 Audio Codec

I hope the the AC3 codec is only for DVD-SVCD, as we don't want the audio touched.

  14. Okay finished SWII and it came out a great, All menues worked, sound all the way till end. Time from rip to Burn completed was 2H 21Min. Going to try something with lots of menues and extras to see what it does next. Also going to try a SVCD just to see about it since I am sure thier are a few that might use it for this.

  15. subs missing !

i tried the demo version too. and it worked easily,i did band of brothers disc2.which had about 93% of original sizes for both episodes.quality was ok, could have improvement though, but it sure is far better than dvd2one, and i love the keep menu and stuff.however, i kept both english and dutch subs but i noticed that it did not include the dutch subtitles i selected.i can select it, but it doesnt show up...only english is there and im sure i checked the right stream, cause there was only one dutch.too bad i will have to check whether its a program fault or that the original had the ifo screwed up already.....lets hope so.i will post my findings.and hey mb1, thanks for the great testing you do.

update: i just checked it in subrip....the dutch subs are in stream nr 15, which also is stream nr 15 in instantcopy.....so something has gone wrong there

  16. Ok everyone stop downloading this program.. LOL or at least share the demo. Does anyone have a private server or somewhere elese to get this. Maybe Kazzaa. It says its going to take 5hours to download. AHHHHHH. There server is running on extra slow.

1 more question. I was looking another place that is selling instant copy and they show 2 of them an instant copy and an instant copy cd/dvd. Does anyone know if this is correct. Because the dvd version is going to sell for $80. That is a little much especially if DVD2One is going to keep offering theres for the same price as now. just ny 2 cents

  17. what i dont like is that you have to write directly to dvd-r, or to an image....i wish you could make the video_ts folder....that way you could check whether the rip is ok (and not like mine missing subs!) otherwise youll end up with a bad disc! also then you can use your own burning tool if u like.

please pinaccle fix this subs thing and make it so its checkable BEFORE you burn it....

  18. does not use full disk capacity!
    ok two thing are weird....

    1. when you are in the part where you can select the streams and stuff...and where you can do the percentage thing, you cannot go over 4.32GB, this is weird cause a disc can hold 4.36GB

i tried to ignore it and make it go over 4.32...but the prog doesnt accept that and wont continue.

oh well i can live with that minor difference...

    BUT

    2. when i got the final output it was only 3.95GB! that is weird....first the 4.32GB thing, and then its not 4.32 but 3.95 now that difference IS too big! especially when you want to put all extras and stuff on it....you need to use ALL space available, not 3.95 out 4.36 that is a difference of about 400MB guys!

defenitely needs fixing for that.....maybe they should call Erwin, cause his dvd2one makes it fit exactly to 4.36GB.....but thats about the only good thing left about dvd2one since instantcopy came out.

  20. Help..

Keep getting this error during start of conversion in Instant Copy.

1st used Decrypt to FILE BACK up everyting....then started IC.....

    I get this....

"Access Violation at address 030f3b00 in module 'vobsrc.ax'. Read of address 00000000" and it fails. Looks like its during an audio transcode/analysis during intitial start of program.

I've re-ripped the soure 2 times using De-cryptor and also tried re-installing the IC twice to make sure I don't have corrupted installs.

    Any ideas???

  21. Just placed an order for it. Looks like avaiable at the normal supect places except for Amazon? Huh? Werd since it listed on the UK Amazon but not the US Amazon?

Did pritty good on the test. A three epsode series with a small set of extras and a few menues. Fell asleep so another test of how long will need to be run.

Between this and DVD2one. Not bad.

    @ Skunkwerx

You have to rip the whole VIDEO_TS files with Decrypter.
You did rip the main movie only instead (Decrypters default) ...

    regards

  26. Hate doing two post in a row but here is some info:

    1) The 5 minut rule looks like it only is active on going from DVD to SVCD/VCD.

    2) The "Get the transcode" check is found in the tab lables DVD under Advance.

  28. Here's another german mirror. http://www.leidigs.de/downloads/instantcopydemo.zip In about 8 hours you've only downloaded like 6GBs.
First it's not $80 it's $49.99 so only $10 more than dvd2one. Quality is definitely better than dvd2one.

I ripped a movie that was 7.75GB and it brought it down to 4.15GB. For those without dvd-burners like me who just want to give it a whirl. Do this.
Rip with dvddecryptor to ISO mode. Mount iso with daemon tools. In InstantCopy select virtual DVD as source. For destination select harddisk.

I selected custom resize so for 'Video Title Set 1' which is Title 1 and Title 2 or VTS_01 (has PGC1 and PGC2) it said orignial is 5.36GB and wanted to transcode it to 2.79GB. So the extra, menus, games, etc. Which is 'Video Title Set 2' which is Titles 3 - 31. It was 1.66GB and had 883MB selected. I moved that down to around 500MB which let me move the main movie from 2.79GB to 3.16GB. 2 hours later on a P4 2.53GHz it was fantastic. (dvd2one transcoded this same movie in 30mins) I did the same movie with dvd2one and quality is clearly superior with InstantCopy even though it still had 500MB more of menus and extras.

To test out with PowerDVD do this. Just rename the files
    movie.pdi movie.pdi01 movie.pdi02 movie.pdi03 movie.pdi04
to this..just append .vob at the end
    movie.pdi.vob movie.pdi01.vob movie.pdi02.vob movie.pdi03.vob movie.pdi04.vob
PowerDVD will play all of them except the first vob which just gives green blocks,etc..so do add that to the playlist.

Is not as easy as that..

The program probably install something more in the registry of Windows, and even when you reinstall it again, it knows when do you install it for the first time. The only way is to erase everything from your HD including your OS...

hu, sorry but the point if this prog we were all waiting for IS keeping the menu since all other free tools don't.
Point is some people do not care for menus.

Couldn't one rip just the movie to your HD, then run the VOBs through IFO Edit, make new IFOs, then open in InstantCopy 7 and just have a DVD9 movie onto a just a movie DVD5?
