InstantCopy 7 is available !!!

Does anyone know why when I use IC and load the video_ts.ifo file then I choose the destination to save, i press start and it starts perparing. I get the customize disc window and the data size is 4.31gigs, I click ok and I just get "fail to set data for 'D:VIDEO_TS\BAD COMPANY.pdi'

Have you got a discdata folder?
mine is C:\Program Files\InstantCD+DVD\InstantCopy\discdata
it creates 2 files (discdata.add & discdata.adi)when yu analyse the IFO file but if this folder does not exist or is in a different location it may be stopping IC
if you do have a folder and there are 2 files in there, copy them then delete the originals and see if it workd then as the data may be corrupt

If not I would suggest unistalling, then reinstalling again so it makes the folder again and knows where it is

I've got a demo version and a version that someone sent me and i'm getting the same thing with both, that folder is not in either

what version have you got?

are you unistalling it 1st then rebooting before installing again?

after installing it and rebooting, unistall it,reboot, then do a search for 'instant' and also look in your programs folder and make sure all remnants of that program have gone or anywhere else

then try a fresh install with version 7.0.0.91

some programs use the old settings in the registry and if you just install it wont overwrite these settings!, so thats why its best to unistall to get rid of these settings and start again fresh

Ok, a quick followup before everyone starts YELLING at me about the REGISTRY patch. YES I did verify that I am running version 7.0.0.91 and I did download and install the "InstantCopy Register Hack" or whatever you want to call it. YES I merged it into my registry and even verified that it is there. Even rebooted (not necessary) and tryied the process all over again. Same results.

IC7_MovieOnly_reg.zip Registry hack if you wish to enable de-selecting video title sets (VTS) and customizing transcoding size of movie, etc. Only works on 7.0.0.91. Close out of Instant Copy before applying registry hack/trick otherwise it'll reset to the original state.

Just added the last part in bold as this seems to be a few peoples problems of not gettting registry hack working.

I am also having problem de-selecting video title sets. I tried running the IC7_MovieOnly_reg.zip Registry hack (with Instant Copy program closed) and I am having no success. Where exactly is this registry called DVDMagic and how can I open it to change the setting from 0 to 1? Do we need to place the unzipped IC7_MovieOnly_reg.zip folder (and file inside that folder) in a special location? When I run Instant Copy program, all of the titles are still grayed out and I cannot unclick them. Thanks for any help!!!

Just deleted everything besides the actual setup and still i'm getting the same thing, that discdata folder just doesn't want to turn up for me

I have just told you to install it, then reboot, then unistall it using the unistaller (not delete), then install againto get as clean an install possible

also I cannot help if you do not answer the questions

what version have you got, the no. please?

is it the official demo 7.0.0.91?

and are u ok using the registry editor as it tells you in there the path of the disc data folder so you need to check it is there

if not I can explain anyway

Yep that is the correct version. Nah m8 I don't know how to use or what is a registry editor if you can help these are the files I get (that's if this works)

thats not the right one, try the search again and when it finds discdata press F3 to search the rest of the registry and again if the next one it finds is wrong

have you tried, the install, reboot, uninstall, reboot, install yet?

what Operating System have you got? and are you installing for one user or all users?

LOL, looks like we have gone complete circle in the last 12 hours as I asked this 12 hours ago, but I didn't think about suggesting to create it

just create a folder and call it discdata?

C:\program files\instantcd+dvd\instant copy\discdata

is the path you need

if the instantcd+dvd folder doesn't exist in program files folder, create it

if the instant copy folder doesn't exist in the instantcd+dvd folder, create it

and finally make sure the discdata folder is in the instant copy folder

can't put it any simpler

also make sure all the foldernames are exactly the same as in the registry

don't worry about the 2 data files they will be created after you start the program and analyse for the 1st time

Have you tried the unistall bit yet?

goto registry again and look for VOB

it should look like this pic below, and contain CD Wizard and then 7.0

you need to delete 7.0, but before deleting it right click it and export it and save it as you can always import it back in

also keep on searching as you have installed all users so there may be more than one 7.0 folder

Hello,

I have the instant copy version 7.0080. I used it to shrink an episode dvd 9 to a dvd 5. After several processes, it shows a list of titles i can shrink to make the dvd file size smaller. It was at 4.90 gb, so I shrinked the quality down for several of the titles. I got it down to 4.20 and clicked on the start/next button, but it popped this window up again with the original dvd size of 4.90. How do I fix this? Can anyone help me? Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.

hi i had instant cd dvd 6.5 for a while. in december i was promise instant dvd 7 with instant copy in february when it was to be released. i download the trial(instant copy) about 3 weeks ago all the while trying to contact pinnacle and vob about the update. i get no response from them. so finally saturday i brought instant copy full version from Comp USA. well this morning i got email from vob (Please visit the Pinnacle website (www.pinnaclesys.com) and register. This should allow you to upgrade to the new Instant CD/DVD 7 to special conditions) well i went to the website and couldn't figure out how to register. do any of you know how? i want to get instant cd dvd 7 without paying any more money. any help is appreciated. thanks
p.s. i email vob and pinnacle and i just don't know how long it's going to take them to respond
