  3. I just installed this progam and had the same problem of not recognizing my dvd rom. This is what I did to get it to recognize it now. Go to the installation folder, C:\Program Files\Dvdbot. Then open up the DVDbot configuration settings file and edit the line that says "dvddrive=D" and change the "D" to whatever drive your dvd rom is. Restart the program and click refresh the dvd drive and that worked for me. Hope this helps.

  4. The program works really good, I can't complain. It looks just as good as the original to me, and that's what we all want isn't it? Nice little prog.

  5. I run an internal Sony DRU500a burner and a 16X CD-ROM on the Secondary IDE set to use DMA. I tried all the previously mentioned fixes, and the proggy will not recognize either drive. If the author wants to sell his product, he's going to have to provide a better beta product than this. It's rather frustrating not to be able to even use the product to evaluate it.

I use the default settings in DVD Decrypter never had to change a thing. One thing DVD Decrypter does that you dont do in your program is allow us to pick the DVD Drive using a drop down box.

D/L the "a" version, still can't get it to pick up my DVD Drive. I re-booted, have the DVD2One in the folder. So did I miss something? Please Advise.

There's one in the drive now and has been for the past hour, I even played it just to be sure the DVD was in order. Still can't get DVDBot to pick up the drive. The only other dive I have is a Yamaha CD-R type. I sure would like to test out this software. Thanks in advance.

  11. Hi,

I started a movie in PowerDVD, and then started DVDBot.
And now the program finds the dvd-drive!
I am testing the program right now.

  12. Made sure the Drive letter said "D", which is where my Pioneer A04 is located, restarted the comp, after restart inserted DVD and started DVDbot, still no DVD Detected. Wish I could get this program to work.

    Peace,

  13. Good thing the uninstall works better than the DVD detection

Are u using any kinda Image drive, I did a test with four DVD drives hooked up to all channels and SCSI HD (sorry I do not have IDE HD on my Video Machine) Anyway I had a Diff. DVD in all the drives and nothing. Then I mounted an Image and it found it, so I went and uninstalled all my imaging Drives and then the only DVD to pick up was the Pri. Master, nothing on the other three, changed them all around and all the DVD's worked if they were the one on the primary Channel and Master, So just wanted to pass on my findings mabey it will help u. I will hook up a fresh system and put nothing but one HD and three DVD to see what the outcome is, Anything to help.

  15. GandyMan,

I have no image drives installed and only one DVD writer on its own IDE channel and cable, this program should find it and show the vid, but it doesn't, don't know why, hopefully this will get fixed, cuz I really want to try it.

    Peace,
    Zorin

  16. It's funny how some progys react with different systems. I've had zero problems with DVD Bot right out of the gate, which is very unusual for me. I have 2 DVD drives, one burner and one reader. I can put a movie in either and it does just fine. Setup master/slave secondary ide. I put the origional DVD in the player a blank in the burner, press a couple buttons, bingo out pops the backup- I've been dreaming of this ever since I started backing up. Can't wait for the final version!

To help us figure out why some can not get this to work, do u have two HDs and can u put the DVD Movie in the burner and it find it. Anything would help us nail this down

  18. I have 2 HDD's Primary; C:Master, Ddata) Slave. Both DMA enabled
    I have 2 DVD ROM's Secondary;AO5-Master, Creative-Slave.
I can have DVD Bot open and insert DVD in either drive and have it detected or have a DVD in either drive and open DVD Bot and have it detected. Either way it works. I'm running W2K
I never installed .9 only .9a (if that matters).
I'm instructing DVD Bot to write to D: drive

  19. WHooa!
Just for shits and giggles I unplugged one of the two DVD drives- THEN I get the non- detect in Bot. It seems to happen whichever drive I unplug. Seems it needs both drives plugged in to detect.

thanks for the test, it helps alot in figuring out what is wrong with some peoples system and why they can not use it.

  21. I have the same problem with it not even seeing my drives.
Those of you that have this working...what drive letter are your DVD drives? Mine are F: and J:
I have a theory that the program will only see a DVD drive that is the D: drive. I could be completely wrong, but I am just trying to troubleshoot this...I want to play with this program!!!

  22. It's wierd mine wasn't working, but now it works on all my drives. It even worked when I mounted an image on Daemon tools it found it.

I have a DVD-ROM a DVD-RW and a Daemon tools drive regardless of where I put a dvd in it works even if I just mount an ISO image on daemon tools.

    Beats me.

    Best regards

  25. My DVd-rom is drive G and my DVD-Writer is Z and it finds the DVD's with no problem.

Bottom line is the program is buggy and needs to be fixed.

  26. Has anyone done a tcpdump and snoop on HTTP packets to see what information is being transmitted from your machine to the net when you run DVDBot
    I'm beginning to worry

  30. Tried the new version, still no go...it doesn't even say NO DVD FOUND or anything. I changed the ini file to DRIVE:F (which is actually my A04) then i actually got the famous NO DVD FOUND message. I guess it just hates my A04! Anyone have it working with an A04? If so, what operation system, and what Firmware, and DMA or PIO?
