  1. What is the best Dvd copying software for making a DVD-9 onto 2 dvd-r with no video lost? I know this dvdrhelp.com recommends dvdxcopy in their guides, but is that the best/only thing to use? Is their anything in the same price range that maybe has more options for creating different kinds of dvd's (e.g. home movies, copying of xbox/ps2) something along the lines of ulead movie factory etc.?

ALso, when copying dual layer to 2 discs, is the menu also on the second disc when it splits the movie? If not, how does it know the audio/video setup, etc.?

  2. I found some more options on the dvd newbie guide. How are ifoedit, spruce-up, or dvd2one? I only want to buy one software package, hopefully to do it all!! I would prefer something that does menus. nd I guess something that does multiple episodes, as i want to copy 24hrs eventually. Is there any decent freeware for dvd-9 to 2 discs?

i checked out your website. One question for ya? In copying the main movie only of a dvd-9, your last step for burn dvdr says to use nero? Can I use dvd decrypter for this? In looking further I think maybe not because I cannot select an entire folder in dvddecrypter - i have to select an iso image. What about using recordnow max? I'm just weary of using nero for 2 reasons - one is that i am trying to make things as uncomplicated as possible and not put a million different softwares on my computer; the other is with my sony500a dvdrw drive i've seen alot of forum posts about people having problems with it. I am running w98se and my computer isn't the stable-ist of setups. but if you think nero is still the way to go, just say so and i'll get that too.

  6. Your going to have to wait a little longer there is software in the work's DVD2one might be adding some thing you are asking for also Pinnacle is working on a 1:1 copy software said to get every thing on to one DVD-R. realt menu's I would not think about it to much if you want to get a movie on one DVD-R as they take up more space it's best to use some thing like DVD2One and take what you want out of it like english 6channel and the subtitle's you want leave more space on the disc for better picture. right now DVDXcopy is that does what you want but back's up on two DVD-R's I would wait and see what come's out you can use infoedit for free or DVD2DVD-R.de is also free

  7. if movie is on a dvd-9 than best app is dvd2one. period.
if movie is on dvd-5 then there are choices.

until we the consumer can actually buy a blanc dvd-9 there will not be a 1:1 copy method,1:1 currently are with reencoding and that like.

if I could buy a real dvd-9, like the ones that have holloywood movies ont hem then i could make a genuine 1:1, but since single sided dual layers can not be bought at retail stores, then hollywood has a strangle hold on us.
