I'm thinking of buying an ATI RageFuryPro 32mb with TVin and TV out for around $65 USD. My question is, say I hook my VCR, camcorder up to the tv-in jacks, how large a file size would 10min of video be in .avi format? (consider standard 320x240, with very clear resolution).
I'm guessing I'd just use VirtualDub, or SonicFoundryStreamAnywhere to create the .avi or .asf file.
Is there any other freeware to capture with which is better? WinMediaEncoder?
Also, when I capture video in .avi format, can I just immediately compress it in Divx? Or do I have to save an uncompressed .avi first?
Last, I have a Pentium2 400mhz, 320mb sdram, 6.4GB right now... do see any problems with this?
Keep in mind that at most, the longest file I want capture will be about 10min, yet Video resolution/quality is key... is my harddrive way too small... or can I get by?
