  1. I know that's a stupid question, but I'm not that bright

I have both halves of the movie Adaptation which is ac3, yet when I convert the audio on each half to .wav, only 1/2 the audio is there...on BOTH halves of the movie!. It's perfectly in sync for the first 1/2 of each part, then it's totally gone. It just doesn't make sense. If it was left as .ac3, could it still be burned and played on my dvd player, even though I can't hear it on my pc?

    Thanks!

you can hear ac3 fine on any computer (assuming you have a sound card and speakers)

  3. Using what program can I hear it on my pc? Not in virtualdub, not in the windows media player.

And again, my question is can I/how burn it with nero to play in my dvd player WITHOUT converting it? All the posts I see refer to changing it to a .wav file. If this isn't necessary, why do we all have to do it? I guess I'm just not "getting it".

  4. You need to download and istall an ac-3 codec to be able to hear ac-3 audio on your computer.... look for it in the downloads section.

  5. Thanks. Can't believe there was a codec I hadn't downloaded.

Next question though, why do I see all these posts about converting it to a .wav file? Am I going to have a problem down the road before burning it?

Adaptation is not available to the public, thus your copy is considered warez and is not open to discussion on this board.
