I'm using a Canopus ADVC-100 via the PC's firewire port.
My problem is that, although my finished captures have sound, there's no sound whilst I'm monitoring the capture. It's the same in whatever package I use for capturing. Although it's not a major problem, I wonder if anyone has any ideas as to the cause ?

It may simply be the software/hardware spending its time capturing rather than monitoring what it's capturing for your benefit!
My Ulead Videostudio 6 produces extremely choppy sound while capturing so I simply turn it down! As you say, it's not a problem as I know the sound is being captured.
