  2. The upgrade is on the way!

Edit: No it isn't! The full download version is available for ordering, but the full box, upgrade box (that I want), and upgrade download versions are "coming soon" (I missed that till I went back to order it).

    Thanks for the heads up!

They have finally added the only thing I thought was lacking in previous versions.......slow/fast motion.

    From Ulead's "What's New"

New Playback Speed Control - Control the exact speed of your video with slow/fast motion effects. Slow clips down to as little as 10% of the original speed for nostalgic or dramatic scenes. Speed clips up to as high as 1000% for time-lapse effects and humorous fast motion.

  5. What I like (from reading web) is this:

New MultiCut™ Editing using Extract Video
Save processing time by selecting multiple video segments from a single clip to delete (like commercials) or keep. VideoStudio will process your selections at the same time.

That was one of two things I had hoped for as well. The other was "custom paths" (like MSP has), so I could pan and zoom around on video or still images (often used on the History Channel). However, I really didn't expect custom pathing in a $100 editor, so I'm just happy about the slow/fast motion feature.

    I noticed this:

    "New Title Animation Effects
Make titles come alive with new Pop Up and Turn animation effects."

I wonder if the "Pop Up" title animation is anything like the cartoon balloons in VH1 "pop-up videos"....this would be very nice, and quite a time-saver, compared to doing it the hard way.

  7. One thing I noticed is that the trial demo of UVS7 requires DirectX 9.

One of the few products to require it.I'm leary at this time to install DirectX9,read only bad things from people who installed it(capture & playback problems).
P.S.I e-mailed Ulead support to see if VS7 will work with DirectX8.1,will post their response.

Don't expect a response from Ulead. I emailed them weeks ago complaining about how their DVD & CD Deluxe Edition of Videostudio 6 did not include Ulead PhotoExpress 4 that their website claimed was included in it, and was the main reason why I bought this edition. No response yet, and I don't think I ever will get one.

Videostudio 6 is an excellent piece of software though, and I think version 7 just includes the one or two features missing from version 6.
