Have ATI Radeon 8500LE board for video editing--works Ok, want to hook up
S video monitor--board has strange 7 pin min DIN connector! I ordered S video cable from canada--paid $20 US--only has 4 pins! ComUSA has no cables like this. Anyone know where (in US) I can get this 7 pin din cable to go to standard 4 pin S video ??
    TIA

  2. I'm assuming you bought an OEM version of the board, b/c it sounds to me like you're thinking the connector for the 'breakout' cable is an s-video connector. If you bought this card retail, it came w/ an adaptor (which plugs into your 7-pin connector). This adaptor will have audio out, s-video out, and a composite out... as well as a digital audio out i believe.

    Post to my post!

I just figured it out! With help from ATI web site. The board has a 7 pin din
output conn.--ATI says to just plug in the 4 pin S plug -guess it uses the 4 pins around the sides and the other 3 pins are not in use. Somewhere there must have been a 7 pin din?

I have the same card and I didn't know for sure, but that was my guess. Be sure to post and let us know after testing it!
