    I was trying to use virtualdub1.3c to convert an asf file into avi, but I got an error messages says:
    "can't find decompressor for type wmv1 (unknown)"
    Can anyone tell me what does it mean? and what can I do about it?

    If the ASF is a standard file, it sounds like you have a codec missing and need to install it.

    If the ASF is protected, there is not a lot you can do.

    Install the popular codec's, also make sure your Microcrap codec is not locked.

    I tried to install all the popular codecs, but I still get the error mentioned above. Any other suggestions?
