I started making dvd's for friends and family but some who play the dvd's on thier PS2 are having problems, it either skips or one stops halfway through but when I play it on my set top dvd player no flaws at all. Instead of converting my avi's to mpeg2's at 100% quality 9.5 a sec shoud I do it at 80% about 7.5-8 megs a sec? Would that help? I was thinking mybe the bitrate was too high for the cheaper dvd players.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Check the PS2 specs. Anything else is just a guess. It could be anything from the media your using, to flaws in the mpeg.

It sounds like your using CBR. Any particular reason?

I dont even know what CBR means. I dont do the Tmpeg thing because the program is $50 and looks to complicated . IM getting good results so far just a couple people say the dvd skips or stops and goes to the menu sometimes in the PS2's. All though I I have not seen a DVD done through Tmpeg so I dont know the quality between mine and theirs would be.
