  1. Hi there,
I work with Ulead to capture, cut an so on.
With the help of the video server I serve the avi to TMPGEnc.
This works very good (for me ;-)
A few days ago, the trial period for the video server was over an I contacted the videotools.net for buying it (15 Euro is not too much, I think). But: No response :-(
Now my HD is full of captured avi's and I can't do anything than wait... (I can't delete the files because I don't have the original tape anymore).
Can anyone help me? Is there an alternative to the server by videotools.net?
    Thanx

You could just do it the long way and output to DV AVI file (if you have the diskspace) and then load the AVI directly into TMPG.

Videotools is allowing you to encode straight from the timeline but you will get the same result if you need to do it the long way as I suggested.

Every other way needs encoding and reencoding. But I don't want the loss of Quality.

  4. i dont know if it will work with dv files, but i think you can load the avi's to virtualdub and frameserve to tmpeg.
i dont know if you can edit dv with virtualdub, but you can try it anyway.

if you need more details, post a reply.

    Answer:
I tried with VDub. But opening TMPGEnc does'nt open - "can not open or unsupported" - but I will try on. Maybe you give me some hints... Thanx for that.
On the other hand: With VDub I can't mix in effects, fade-outs and more...

  6. The videotools.net WEB site is still there. I looked at the plug-in page and it said you needed the pro package key. This looks like a good tool. Maybe you should try to contact them again. Let me know if you are able to purchase the key since I might want to purchase the ulead plug-in.
    Thanks, Bert

    Answer:
Yes, I first had a look at the videotools website. From there you can order the packages. But you do need a credit card. But I don't have one...
So I contacted over "feedback@videotools.net" and asked if I may transfer the money to a bank account. But till now I didn't get any answer.

But: With the update of Ulead from 11/2002 i've got a new MPG2 encoder. It's ok. Not that great, but for making SVCDs from TV-VHS-tapes it's ok.
And: If videotools.net doesn't have any interests in other forms of paying...
