  1. hey all - im sure ill get flamed for doing somthing wrong here but here goes..
    Ripped cowboy bebop as a M2V and AC3 file(s).
used DVD2AVI and saved project (bebop1.d2v)
now - used TEMPEG - worked fine but i think CCE could give better quality
    so..
now using this script (there was more but it wouldnt get past line 2

    file is called bebop.avs
    -----------------------
    loadplugin("C:\temp\mpeg2dec.dll")
    mpeg2source("e:\bebop1.d2v")
    -----------------------

now i have read (and practiced) that AVS files loaded into CCE on WinXP will close the program down - well they do.
so out comes VFAPI to convert the bebop.avs to bebop_afapi.avi..

then when i load the avi into media player (was told to do this to check the scripts)
    i get:
    UNRECOGNISED EXCEPTION!
    c:\bebop.avs line 2

well this file still loads into CCE but doesnt DO anything

maybe i need a new version of AFAPI, or maybe i should stick to TMPEG?

    any info would be appreciated

Try creating your .avs by loading the .d2v into FitCD, and see what happens then.

  3. try adding the line

    Resampleaudio(44100)

(I think that is the correct syntax)
    to the script

I use 1.74 with no problems.

  6. im currently using 1.77.3 by "loli.j"

and adding a resample command wouldnt do anything, there is no sound! all im trying to do is get the M2v into a good quality Svcd MPG and mux that with the wav later..

Damn - I may have to use TMPEG (works well but quality isnt the best, compared to my DVD2SVCD rips

  7. You should add a resample audio even if you don't have audio.

  8. Yes, it's a bug in CCE, forgot to mention that

    Try DVD2AVI v1.74, I had trouble with 1.77 a while back . . . .

  9. I have the same problem.
I see "Unrecognized Exception! (d:\movies\heros.avs, line 2)" message in TMPGEnc and Virtualdub.
I think CCE is not the guilty, because that error ocours in TMPEGEnc and VirtualDub too.
If I use avisource, it works, but I'd like to open d2v file generated by DVD2AVI.
Does anybody know how can I fix it?

Banjazeer, had it correct I believe.

I did it 2x today. You'd load your m2v into dvd2avi, make your project file, d2v. Load the d2v project file from dvd2avi into Vfapi, and convert it, then load the Vfapi converted project file into FitCD to make your script (avs)

Load that into CCE and you should have no issues.

The audio is immaterial (for this stage anyhow)

If u have already converted to mpeg then re-encoding that file further even with a better encoder will not add quality, rather it will degrade it slightly,,??
Also you can set dvd2svcd up so that all files are kept, and you can edit the avisynth if required..JFYI[

well the MPG on the PC is a directly demuxed M2V file so its still DVD quality - i know using ANY re-encoder with a lower bitrate (tyo make it fit on CD) will reduce the quality, but ones that i do with DVD2SVCD look better then TMPEG

normally i just use it to make the whole disk, but this one kept locking up at the encoding stage (never happened before) and i had to return the DVD's so i just ripped em to M2V
