I just ordered a new workstation from Dell . . . dual P4 Xeon 2.0ghz (hyperthreading enabled) w/512mb RDRAM, nVidia Quadro 900XGL video & 2x120gb IDE HDD w/8mb Databurst cache in RAID0 configuration running WindowsXP Professional.
Does anyone have any idea what encodes times I should anticipate running CCE 2.66 . . . right now w/a P4 oc2.3ghz, 1gb DDR266, 2x18gb IDE HDD in RAID0 & ATI Radeon 9700 running CCE 2.5, I usually get encodes of approximately .85 of real time, clocking back to 2.0ghz on the P4 reduces the encodes to approximately real time.
I'm trying to build a superb video editing/DVD authoring station.

Hmm??? I've got an AMD 2400+ XP and using CCE 2.5 I get encodes at 0.7x realtime (1.445 in CCE) per pass. Your numbers seem a little on the slow side. In the end CPU matters for encoding, your video card doesn't really play a part.
