Has anyone else had problems when using this??
I've ended up making 3 coasters when I set it for under an hour in SP mode.
When I used it to extend the time slightly over 2 hours it worked fine.![]()

Before you begin to record with the Recorder, determine exactly how long the material is that you will be recording. Then set it to flexible mode and it will compensate if the recording goes over 2 hours of whatever.

The problem is with stuff that is set for less then an hour.
For example I tried to copy a 45 minute VHS video.
I set the Flex Rec. for 50 minutes and I had problems.
If I left it in the SP mode and just let it record it was fine.
When I had a video that ran 2 hours and 20 minutes and used the Flex Rec. it worked fine.
It seems to be stuff under 60 minutes?? -
I'm not sure why that is, but SP mode works good for you. Go with that as long as the quality is good 8)

I have gotten my DMR-E30 to record in FR mode at 50 minutes with no problems (set to XP before FR). It even appears to peak above the 10K bit rate (according to the onboard bit meter). I used Accu media. I have never had any problems with the Accu and have recorded over a 100 (almost all in FR mode).
